• The Best Photo Fixing Program Out There!

  All the usual photo fixing tools plus many from the big expensive alternates plus deconvolution which doesn't come with the big expensive programs it comes as a very expensive plug-ins talking of which Image Analyzer accepts some excellent plug-ins too like Neat Image.

  Cons

  advanced features aren't exactly intuitive though I'm not sure they can be...

  Summary

  Supurb and Free! Take some time to get to know the advanced features and they will do wonders for pics you might've been ready to delete!

  Pros

  This product is probably good. I don't know, but I read all about it before I found out I can't use it.

  Cons

  CNET, it's not very obvious that a product doesn't work for my platform. You can detect the OS I'm using, why not show a pop-up or warning for listings that won't work on my machine? It would be a huge UX boost to filter results by platform.

  My machine crashed badly

  Summary

  My 64 bit windows 7 intel duo core machine hung. Task Master did nothing. Reset-reboot button would take me to the opening (chipset) screen and stall. Couldn't get far enough for Safe mode to work. Finally unplugged all usb and was able to re-define C:\ as boot drive in bios and was able to reboot and do system restore from there. Someone with minimal experience might have had to send it to the shop.

  Does almost everything the big expensive editors do plus it does things that the big editors don't like deconvolution of out of focus, gausian, and motion blurr and a dedicated focussing filter! And it's FREE!

  Cons

  Not the most intuitive interface but well worth getting to know!

  Summary

  Has every tool you need for restoring photographs to how they should've looked, you can correct brightness, contrast, colour, focus, motion blurr even lens abberations and distortions and has one brilliant yet simple tool every editor should have, a fader to reduce over corrections without having to go back and do the process again! You can even graduate the fade or just fade the effect in bright areas or dark ones. Absolutely brilliant!

• Okay but missing high resolution

  Pros

  It does everything Microsoft Photo Editor can do plus it can rotate by half degrees.

  Cons

  I scanned my images at 800 resolution but the most it will save is at 300 resolution jpg. The tools are good, but any editing drops the quality of the picture.

  It downloads, installs and uninstalls without a problem.

  Cons

  I tried using this program to rotate an image one half of a degree. It does so... along with the added bonus of blurring stripes of the image about every ¾ inch or so. If you are looking for a program that finely rotates an image while simultaneously turning it into dog sh!t, then this program is for you.
